Unlike a standard-sized toupee base, this system is made to measure based on a submitted scalp measurement, resulting in a base shaped specifically to the wearer's head rather than a generic size that's trimmed down to approximate fit.
That custom sizing generally produces a closer, more secure fit at the perimeter than a standard base can achieve, since the base contour is built to match the individual's head shape from the start rather than being adjusted after the fact.
A mounting kit is included alongside the custom base, covering the attachment supplies needed to secure the toupee once it arrives, and the base perimeter remains trimmable for final fine-tuning even after custom sizing.
